Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the direction and size of a plane camber of such a rolled material as a steel slab on the runout side of a rolling pass line, by permitting a roll pair of a vertical rolling stand in a rolling pass line to shift in the direction of breadth of the rolled material. CONSTITUTION:If a runout side camber detector 6 detects a rolled material 1, an arithmetic device 10 operates the size and direction of the camber against the preset pass line, and the output signal of the device 10 is inputted to an arithmetic device 13. The unit 13, by its internally equipped PID control circuit for example, operates the direction and amount of shifting the rolled material 1 on the basis of the said output signal of the unit 10, and sends a command signal to a vertical roll position controller 12. The controller 12, according to this command signal, actuates a shifter 8 to shift a vertical roll pair 4-1, 4-2. If the camber is formed in the illustrated direction, the rolled material 1 is shifted toward the roll 4-2. On the other hand, the unit 13 receives a load signal of each mill for the purpose of controlling the rolling sequence, so that the passing condition of the bottom end of the material to be rolled through the vertical rolling stand 2 can be judged by the unit 13.
