Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of finishing of rolled products by setting the upper roll or lower roll to a reference position in a steel shapes rolling mill, and adjusting zero point by tightening other rolls successively by set load. CONSTITUTION:A lower horizontal roll 1 is squred with a pass line PL, and mode is changed to zero point adjusting mode, and an upper horizontal roll 2 is tightened automatically to form a clearance 12. In this case, the upper horizontal roll 2 is made coincident with the pass line PL. Then, a vertical roll 3 of free side and a vertical roll 4 of drive side are tightened automatically to form clearances 13, 14 to specified values. Above-mentioned zero point adjusting mode is made so that pressing motor is stopped when current becomes above specified value and speed is specified value at proper tightening load within the range between nonlinear part load and roll release limit load.
