Abstract
PURPOSE: To stably and efficiently cold-roll a steel sheet containing Al, by performing the rolling work while removing such sticking substance as Al or iron powder from the surface of work rolls.
CONSTITUTION: An alkaline cleanser is pumped up by a pump 1 and is sprayed from a nozzle 5 against the surface of a cold rolling work roll 4 in the idling state, according to a sequence control system. A timer then stops the pump 1, and a pump 2 is started to pump up the water which is then sprayed from a nozzle 6 for cooling and water washing the surface of the work roll 4. Hereby, Al, iron powder or Al compound, sticking to the surface of the work roll 4 are removed away, and the rolling work is restarted. Or otherwise, a fluid containing a substance reacting on Al and iron powder is interposed between the work roll 4 and a rolled material while the cold rolling is performed. By the present method, the surface condition required by a stable rolling work is kept in the work roll 4 so that the cold rolling work for a steel sheet containing Al is performed with high efficiency.
