Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the settling and separating efficiency for sludge and the oxidation removal effect of methanol by injecting the supernatant separated from solids in a settling tank provided with a nitrifying sludge floating preventive mechanism provided between the primary denitrification and the secondary denitrification to a fixed bed type denitrifying tower.
CONSTITUTION: Org. waste water 1 contg. nitrogen flows into a bioflating type denitrifying tank 2; at the same time, the circulating liquid from a biofloating type nitrifying tank 3 and the return sludge from a settling tank 4 with a nitrifying sludge floating preventive mechanism 13 flow into the above-mentioned tank 2. In the tank 2, denitrification is effected by facultative anaerobes such as pseudomonas germs, thence it shifts into the tank 3, where it is areated by a fan 17 and org. nitrogen converts to ammoniacal nitrogen. The waste water is separated to solids and liquid in the tank 4. The outflow supernatant is flowed in upward current into a fixed bed type denitrifying tower 6, and methanol is injected from the mid-part of an injection port 15 to remove the remaining nitrifying nitrogen, after which the remaining methanol is removed by oxidation in a fixed bed type oxidation tank 7.
