Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve performance of a gear pump largely by a method wherein side clearance of the gear pump is reduced to zero by giving back pressure corre sponding to the internal pressure of the pump to the side face to the gear, preparing plural number of conducting passage from one of the contacting surface of the gear and from the side face to the back side of the other.

CONSTITUTION: When gears 31 and 32 are rotated to the direction of arrows I and II respectively, fluid sucked from the suction port 44 will gain a certain pressure and is sent to the discharge port 45. And the pressuring fluid being forced to move at each point in the pump from suction port 44 to discharge port 45 is led to the back face of the side plates 33, 34, 35, 36 respectively through lead hole 38 and being separated by the pressure hole 39 prepared to the elastic body 40 forming back pressure corresponding to each part of the pump. The back pressure balanced with initial pressure of the pump is obtained without any special working to the side plates, and the side clearance can easily be reduced to zero at low cost, enabling to improve pump performance largely.
