Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the resistance of a glass container to external force received from the outer surface by holding a compressive stress layer having a higher stress value than a compressive stress layer existing on the outer surface on the inner surface of the container and by forming an org. substance coat on the outer surface of the container.
CONSTITUTION: A compressive stress layer having a higher stress value than a compressive stress layer existing on the outer surface of a glass container is held on the inner surface of the container, and an org. substance coat is formed on the outer surface of the container. Tensile stress produced on the inner surface of the container by external force such as an impact is increased as the average thickness of the body of the container is made smaller, and especially in case of ≤2.4mm thickness tensile stress acts remarkably. In order to further improve the strength of the end product, it is desirable to imterpose a metallic oxide film between the glass body and the org. substance coat. The used org. substance includes polyethylene, vinyl chloride resin and epoxy resin.
