Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a metallic oxide composite body consisting of Sr, Ce and Co oxides and having superior selective oxygen permeability.
CONSTITUTION: This metallic oxide composite body has a composition represented by the formula [where x is 0.2W0.8 and (Sr+Ce)/Co≈1W10] and shows ≥10-4Ω-1cm-1 oxygen ion conductivity and ≥10-2Ω-1cm-1 electron conductivity at about 300W1,200°C. The preferred ratio of electron conductivity/oxygen ion conductivity is >0.1. Said composite body is manufactured by blending oxides, nitrates, acetates, etc. of the metals so as to give the prescribed composition after calcination and by calcining the blend at about 800W1,600°C in an oxidizing atmosphere. Said composite body is formed into a thin film having about 10-3W10-4μm thickness, and the film is used to separate oxygen selectively at 300W1,200°C.
