Abstract

PURPOSE:To optimize the scan rate, by comparing an analog video signal of a line scan type solidstate image sensor with a set value and controlling a counter circuit of a start pulse determining the scan rate through the result of comparison. CONSTITUTION:A line scanning type solidstate image sensor inputs a start pulse ST continuously and makes a scan according to the pulse interval, and outputs an analog video signal V and a clock CK from each element. An analog video signal V is converted into a digital signal at an A/D conversion circuit 1 and the maximum value is obtained at a maximum value detection circuit 2. The maximum value from the circuit 2 and the reference value from a reference value set circuit 4 are compared at a comparator 4. As the result of comparison, a counter circuit 5 is controlled and the counter circuit 5 outputs a signal ST taking as the scanning rate to a line scanning type solidstate image sensor.
