Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the accuracy without complicating the constitution, by starting to readout each scanning line of a line image sensor by a signal obtained in accordance with an output signal from a variable frequency oscillator. CONSTITUTION:A moving extent detecting circuit TPG to be used is so constituted that a picture signal outputted from a sensor indicates image resolution of 1piece/mm. in the subscanning direction when the start time of a read operation of a line image sensor IS has been controlled directly by an output signal of said circuit, and also a controlling circuit is constituted by containing a variable frequency oscillator PSG controlled by being synchronized with the output of the circuit TPG so as to oscillate a signal of frequency of N times as high as repetitive frequency of the output signal from the circuit TPG. In this way, the read operation of each scanning line of the sensor is started by a signal obtained in accordance with the output signal from the oscillator PSG.
