Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The code signal of counter circuit 5 which is obtained by coding the pulse duration of the video signal with 4 bits is held at memory circuit 6. The analog video signal voltage sent from photoelectric conversion sensor 1 is converted via A/D conversion circuit 2 into the digital signal of 16 levels and 4 bits with partitioning into, for example, 16 steps for the range from the white level to the black level. The code signal corresponding to the pulse duration of the video signal sent from circuit 6 is supplied to isolation decision circuit 7. The output from circuit 7 is supplied to table conversion circuit 10, and the reference level according to the pulse duration of the video signal is selected to be supplied to digital comparator 11 and then to deliver the binary coded output.
