Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the solar heat absorbing rate and to increase the temperature raising efficiency of a solar heat collecting board of the downward gravity flow type, by forming V-shaped undulations on a bottom plate and channels to extend along the undulations on the bottom plate, and forming side plates integrally with the bottom plate. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a bottom plate 1 of a water heater to be mounted on a heat- insulating member 10 supported on structural members 9, relatively large V-shaped undulations 2 are formed continuously along the length of the bottom plate 1, in the manner that the line connecting the tops of these V-shaped undulations 2 extends substantially perpendicularly to the length of the bottom plate 1 and one slope 2'' of each undulation is gentler than the other slope 2'. Further, many water channels 3 are formed longitudinally along the rise and fall of the undulations 2, and side plates 5 are formed integrally on both sides of the bottom plate 1.
