Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat collecting panel which has good heat absorbing efficiency, is free of danger of being broken in winter, and enables simplification of structure of a water heating device by a method wherein a filler consisting of cotton or the like is interposed between a base plate and a heat absorbing plate, and water is flowed in the filler.
CONSTITUTION: A filler 3 is interposed between a base plate 1 and a heat absorbing plate 2, to constitute a heat collecting panel. Both lateral edges of the plate 2 are bent downwards to form side plates 2A, which are fixed to the base plate 3 in watertight condition. The filler 3 consists of fifrous material such as cotton, jute, glass fibers, and synthetic fibers, and is so arranged that water flows among the fibers longitudinally at low velocity. In this way, hot water can be obtained efficient ly, and the heat absorbing plate 2 can be made thin, to enhance heating efficiency. Even where water freezes in the filler on the like in winter, breaking of the panel can be avoided since the longitudinal ends of the panel are open to the air.
