Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve fuel cost of an engine with a fuel cutting device having an automatic transmission controller which cuts off the supply of fuel when the rotational frequency of the engine is higher than a preset level during coasting running of the car by shifting down the transmission when the brake is operated while the fuel is cut off.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection controller includes a fuel injection pulse deciding circuit 50 which receives outputs of a fuel injection timing sensor 51, a water temperature sensor 52, and a load sensor 53 to output a pulse signal having a predetermined width for controlling operation of an injector 55. The controller further includes a fuel cutting device which in turn includes an F/V converter 56 which receives the output of the sensor 51, a comparator 57, a reference voltage generating circuit 58, an AND gate 59 and an idling sensor 60. It further includes another AND gate 61 which receives a fuel cutting signal, and a brake sensor 62 connected to the other output terminal of the gate 61. A shift down solenoid 25 is energized when an H output is provided from the AND gate 61.
