Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the falling of a deflector with compact structure and to hold a scanning speed constant, by enabling an image-formation optical system between a light source and the deflector to move at right angles to the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:Luminous flux emitted from a light source 1 forms an image linearly near a deflection reflecting surface 3a through a linear image formation system 2, and deflected luminous flux forms an image on a medium 6 to be scanned through a complex system of a spherical single lens 4 and a toric lens 5. The linear image formation system 2 is fixed on a moving frame 24 and is moved as shown by an arrow A by turning a feed screw knob 28. Consequently, the falling of a deflector 3 is corrected with the compact structure and the scanning speed is kept constant.
