Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Cremastosine I. Appearance: colorless thin needlelike crystal. Melting point: 208W221°C. Solubility: soluble in water and methanol under cold state and easily soluble in them under hot state, easily soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, insoluble in hexane, benzene, ether. Color reaction: positive by periodic acid- benzidine reagent, etc. And/or crematosine II. Appearance: colorless fine needlelike crystal. Melting point: 232W236°C. Value of elemental analysis: C 46.15%, H 4.54%, N 22.44%. Solubility: soluble in water under cold state, easily soluble in them under hot state, slightly soluble in methanol under cold state, soluble under hot state, easily soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, and insoluble in hexane, benzene, ether. Color reaction: positive by periodic acid-benzidine reagent, etc.
USE: Having hypotensive actions, useful as an antihypertensive.
PROCESS: Cremastra appendiculata is extracted with an organic polar solvent, or a mixed solvent with water, to give an extracted solution, from which a cremastosine is isolated.
