Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve excellent chroma reproducibility, by additionally providing an automatic gain control amplifier which controls the level of color difference signal corresponding to the level of added luminance signal, with a circuit adding the luminance signal for white balance compensation to the color difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A color image pickup signal S from an image pickup tube 10 is demodulated into luminance signal Y and color difference signal (R-Y) through a trap circuit and filters and a luminance signal DELTAY for white balance compensation is added or subtracted to or from the color difference signal (R-Y) via an operation circuit 24R. For such a device, an automatic gain amplifier 28R in which the gain is changed with a variable control voltage DELTAE for white balance adjustment is additionally provided. The output of the amplifier 28R is outputted to a terminal 14 through an SC encoder 13 as a chroma signal.
