Abstract

PURPOSE:To largely reduce the number of steps required for positioning a transducing element to a flexible wall surface plate and the number of wiring steps required, by using a single piezoelectric transducing element of a comb-shaped integral structure. CONSTITUTION:A base plate 8 forms both a trap chamber 9 connected to an ink tank through an ink feed passage and a plurality of pressure chambers 10 which are communicated with the trap chamber 9, and the comb-shaped piezoelectric transduc ing element 12 is adhered to the flexible wall surface plate 6 at the upper surface of the plate 8 to constitute an electromechanical transducer. The transducing element 12 has a plurality of tooth parts 13 according to the number of channels, and an electrode 14 formed on the entire back surface of the element 12 is connected to a ground wire 18. By impressing a driving signal 17 from a piezoelectric element driving circuit 16 onto an electrode 15 formed on the surface of the tooth part 13, ink droplets are discharged from the corresponding orifice 1.
