Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the subsignal component, by converting a signal having an integer times the frequency of a clock signal and subjected to phase modulation with a subsignal to be transmitted, into light with another light source for that of a main signal, and transmitting it with the main signal light after synthesis. CONSTITUTION:An output signal of a phase comparison circuit 17 in which a clock signal at a terminal 15 and an output signal of a frequency-dividing circuit 16 are phase-compared, is added at an addition circuit 19 with a subsignal to be transmitted from a terminal 18. This signal is fed to a voltage variable frequency oscillating circuit 21 to control the oscillating frequency and converts it into a signal having an integer times frequency of the clock signal and subjected to phase modulation with the subsignal, by the frequency division in an arbitrary integer at the frequency dividng circuit 16. This signal is converted into light at a light source 23 via a driving circuit 22 and transmitted to a photocoupler 25 via an optical fiber 24 and outputted to an external fiber line 26 after being synthesized with a main signal light transmitted through an optical fiber 14. Thus, the transmission of optical subsignal can be made without interference from the main signal and with less reduction in signal component.
