Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to transmit asynchronously multi-channel and large- volume signals at a time by multiplexing plural input signals after converting them to optical signals. CONSTITUTION:Input signals 11 to 13 are converted to carrier signals in modulators 21 to 23 by the output of oscillators 31 to 33 having frequencies different from each other, and are further converted to optical signals in optical oscillators 41 to 43. Then, these signals are subjected to power synthesis in synthesizing circuit 1 and are made incident to optical transmission path 2. In the receiving side, these signals are converted to electric signals in photo detector 3 and are branched to the channel having a corresponding frequency through amplifier 4 and branching circuit 5 and are supplied to detector circuits 51 to 53.
