Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to economize the starting fuel and to quickly start by a method wherein a plurality of fluidized bed cells are arranged adjacent to one another and one cell is started and a fluidized medium heated in the started cell is overflowedly supplied to the adjacent fluidized bed cell to start the adjacent cell, the fluidized medium in which is successively heated and overflowedly supplied to the next adjacent cell to start the next adjacent cell, consequently resulting in starting the whole cells. CONSTITUTION:At the start of the fluidized bed boiler, a starting cell 2A is supplied with the fluidized medium of the volume having the fluidized bed thickness as, for example, half as that at normal operation and a generating tube cell 2B and a superheater tube cell 2C are remained empty with the fluidized medium. At first a gas burner nozzle 18 is started to burn and, when the fluidized medium is heated up to about 500 deg.C or the ignition temperature of coal, the main fuel is supplied in the cell 2A through a piping 12a from a nozzle 25a. Next, the fluidized medium is supplied by means of a medium hopper to overflow the medium within the cell 2A through an opening 6 into the cell 2B in order to start the cell 2B in the same manner as the starting of the cell 2A. After the start of the cell 2B, the fluidized medium is similarly supplied by means of the medium hopper to overflow the medium within the cell 2B through the opening 6 into the cell 2C to start the cell 2C.
