Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent clogging of transport pipes and improve HCl removal rate by adding powder and grains such as sand into a transport pipe for Ca(OH)2 powder, pneumatic conveying the same and providing a place for blowing into waste gas into a waste gas duct.
CONSTITUTION: While the rate of supply is being adjusted with a constant volume feeder 10 and a rotary feeder 11, Ca(OH)2 powder is supplied from a Ca(OH)2 powder storage tank 6 into a transport pipe 8, and is pneumatically conveyed by a pressure feed blower 9 together with the sand from a powder and grain stroage tank 7 located backward. The HCl in the waste gas from an incineration furnace 1 reacts with the Ca(OH)2 in a waste gas duct 2, and the products of reaction are recovered in an electrical dust precipitator 3, after which the purified gas is released from a chimney 5. In spite of sticking of the Ca(OH)2 on the bent parts 16 and branched parts 17 of the pipe 8, clogging is prevented by the effect of the sand fed from backward. The powder and grains may be incineration ashes, CaCO3, etc. other than sand.
