PURPOSE:To obtain a two directional silicon steel thin strip of sharp (100)[001] structure and small magnetostrictive vibrations at relatively a low cost by performing high temp. annealing under combination of various effects of an increase in the amount of Si to be added, directly sheeting from molten steel and two stage rolling. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel consisting of 2-8% Si, and the balance substantially Fe and unavoidable impurities is ejected onto a moving cooling surface of cooling body from a nozzle, whereby it is quickly cooled and solidified and a steel strip is produced. If Si is below the lower limit, alpha-gamma transformation takes place and the above-described structure is broken down. In excess of the upper limit, embrittling is considerable. This steel strip is annealed at 1,050-1,300 deg.C, whereby the tertiary recrystallization is accomplished.
