EXAMPLE: 5,6,7-Trinor-4,8-inter-m-phenylene-16,17,18,19,20-pentanor-15-cyclohexyl PGI2.
USE: The compound has long-acting physiological activities, such as strong blood platelet coagulation inhibiting activity, hypotensive activity, gastric mucosa protecting activity and gastric juice secretion suppressing activity.
PROCESS: The compound of formula VII which is one of the compound of formula I can be prepared by the following steps: alkylation of the compound of formula V, protection of the hydroxyl group, conversion to the alcoholic compound of formula VI by tetrahydropyranyl group, oxidation, and elimination of the hydroxy-protecting group.
