Abstract

PURPOSE: To have an accurate sensing of acutal time of fuel injection regardless of wear of mechanical parts by sensing directly the internal pressure of a plunger to determine injection work from the nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection device 1 has a drive shaft 3 driven by a Diesel engine, a cam disc 4 rotating following the drive shaft, and a roller shaft 7 equipped with two or more rollers 5 and operates a plunger 7 reciprocatively in compliance with rotation of the drive shaft 3. An electromagnetic actuator 18 is coupled with a sleeve 17 in order to adjust the amount of fuel injection through control of the relative position of the plunger 7 to control sleeve 17. Into a control circuit 20 to control the drive of actuator 18 is put a signal S1 from a pressure sensor 21 which senses change of pressure of the fuel in a high pressure chamber 12. This pressure signal S1 contains information about the actual amount of fuel injection.
