Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect the elements in an inverter circuit by stopping a current controlling chopper controlling circuit when the malfunction of an inverter is detected and supplying a fire control signal to all controlling elements of the inverter circuit. CONSTITUTION:A converter circuit 10 connected via a fuse 12 to an AC power source produces a DC power, a chopper circuit 14 controls the current amount of the DC current, and an inverter circuit 16 converts the DC current into an AC current and supplies it to a load 18. The chopper circuit 14 and the inverter circuit 16 are controlled by the signal from a current controlling circuit 20. When a malfunction occurs in the inverter circuit 16, it is detected by a detecting circuit 22, the detection signal is inputted to a current controlling circuit 20. The circuit 20 stops the operation of the chopper circuit 14, and supplies fire control signal to all the elements in the inverter circuit 16 to share the abnormal current in the respective elements.
