PURPOSE:To switch and receive TV signals, differing in system, with simple circuit constitution by switching center frequencies of a sound detection discriminator resonant circuit automatically by a detection signal obtained by detecting the output amplitude variations of a vertical oscillating circuit due to a difference in field frequency. CONSTITUTION:The output of a vertical synchronism discriminating circuit, which generates the 1st and 2nd level voltages synchronizing with the 1st and 2nd input vertical synchronizing signals of the B/PAL and M/NTSC systems, is inputted to the terminal E of a circuit which switches sound detection discriminator characteristics. This switching circuit is provided with a sound IF detector 5, capacitors 6-10, Zener diodes 11 and 12, and an inductance 13 constituting a resonant circuit. For the reception of the B/PAL system, the voltage at the terminal E is held at 0 to turn off the diode 11, and the discriminator characteristics of the B/PAL system are outputted by the resonant circuit. For the reception of the M/NTSC system, on the other hand, the diodes 11 and 12 are turned on by the voltage at the terminal E and the discriminator characteristics of the M/NTSC system are outputted from the resonant circuit.
