Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the detection of various operating states suitable and to make the muting operation stable especially, by the discrimination that no noise comes from a noise detection and rectifying means, only when the output of a tuning detection circuit of a color TV signal receiver is within the 1st tuning frequency signal section. CONSTITUTION:The 1st frequency section and the section in a quasi-tuning range are respectively discriminated according to the 1st and 2nd detection outputs supplied from an AFT circuit, and the same output when the 1st frequency section is discriminated from the 3rd frequency section within detuning range is outputted from a tuning detection circuit A. A synchronizing detection circuit B takes logic between a horizontal synchronizing signal and a flyback pulse to discriminate the presence of the synchronizing signal, and the noise other than the sound intermediate frequencies is detected at a noise detection and rectifying circuit C and a noise rectifying circuit D to produce a rectified output. The output from circuits A-D is discriminated at a logical circuit E. When the output of the circuit A is within the 1st tuning frequency section and noise is present from the circuit D various operating states are detected as the noise is introduced from the circuit D.
