Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the heat exchanging efficiency of the heat exchanger by attaching a sheet comprising a congregation of metallic fibers arranged with irregularity in the three dimensional space to the surface of a heat transmission pipe so that the heat transmitting area is enlarged. CONSTITUTION:The metallic fibers 1 having the length of 1-10mm. are congregated in an unwoven cloth and sintered in a heat-treating furnace to obtain a flexible sheet 3 comprising a congregation of metallic fibers arranged wit irregularity in three dimensional space. Thus obtained sheet 3 is attached to the surface of the heat exchanger by means of a metallic attaching method using an adhesive or solder. With such a construction, the heat transmission area 5-10 times as large as that of the pipe with no treatments can be obtained. Thus, the heat exchanging efficiency can be much enhanced.
