Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the stress remaining and stress concentration in the multitube type heat exchanger used in an atomic power plant and the like by providing an annular groove in the vicinity of the opening end of a tube hole of a tube plate at such a position as opposes the outer periphery of a heat transmission tube and welding sealingly the tube plate and heat transmission tube.
CONSTITUTION: The tube plate 1 is constituted by a tube plate element 11 and a tube plate battering 12 welded to the surface of the element 11 on the welding side. In the vicinity of the opening end of the tube hole 9 of the tube plate 1, there is provided the annular groove 13 the diameter of which is larger than that of the tube hole 9. The end of the tube 2 and the tube plate 1 are welded at a seal welding part 3. With such a construction, if gas in the vicinity of a root part is heated and expanded by the welding heat, the provision of the annular groove 13 prevents an increase of pressure. This is very advantageous in that any metal piece produced in the welding can be prevented from scaterring and that a generation of blow hole can be minimized.
