Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacturing time by a method wherein a working liquid is poured into a thin metal pipe, and then cutting the pipe under a pressure contact to form vessels.
CONSTITUTION: A working liquid 11 such as water obtained by a vacuum distillation or a freeze deaeration, ketones and frons is housed in a thin metal pipe 10 such as copper. The pipe 10 is pressurized to close the cross section at such a point P as houses an amount of working liquid 11 necessary for one heat pipe and cut off one by one. Thus cut-off pipe 10 makes a vessel 12. Then, the vessel 12 sealed with the working liquid 11 is housed in a metallic container 13 having one sealed end. The container 13 is welded at the other end with an exhaust gas chip pipe 14 after the vessel 12 is housed therein. Then, the exhaust gas chip pipe 14 is connected to a connection port 17 of an intake passage 16 extending from a vacuum pump 15, which provides a predetermined value of vacuum in pressing and cutting the chip pipe 14 at an appropriate point. Then, if the container 13 with the vessel 12 therein is heated, the cut-off part D of the vessel 12 is opened by an expansion pressure of the working liquid through which the working liquid 11 flows into the container 13. Thus, the heat pipe is obtained.
