Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve heat transmitting performance of a heat pipe and to render the operation of the heat pipe stable, by pouring work fluid into a wick- inserted container opened at one end thereof, evacuating the inside of the container by applying ultrasonic vibration in a heating tank, and then sealing the open end of the container for ensuring evacuation of the container. CONSTITUTION:One end of a metal pipe 1 having a wick 2 inserted therein is sealed by a cap 3A, and after filling work liquid 6 into the metal pipe 1, the other end of the pipe is sealed by a cap 3B with a small-diameter tube 4. Then, the tube 4 is connected to a vacuum pump 9. The pipe 1 is immersed into a heating tank 8, the temperature of which is kept at 20-200 deg.C, and ultrasonic vibration is applied to the pipe 1 by an ultrasonic vibrator 7. By the resultant vibration of wick 2 and work liquid 6, separation of gas sealed in the pipe 1 can be facilitated and evacuation of the pipe is promoted, so that heat transmitting performance of the heat pipe can be improved and its operation can be rendered stable.
