Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The titled Co base alloy comprising 1.0W3.5wt% C, 0.1W2.0wt% Si, 0.1W1.6wt% Mn, 5.0W20wt% W, 20W40wt% Cr, 0.001W0.35wt% Zn, 25W 45wt% Ni and the remainder of Co and inevitable impurities. The Co base alloy thus prepared has the above-mentioned characteristics that are required of the engine valves and valve seats of internal combustion engines and in particular of high performance engines and has a low content of costly Co. When the Co base alloy is also used as the castings of the above-mentioned components, it displays excellent performance.
