Abstract
PURPOSE:To well decompose ozone with no reduction in efficiency over a long time by bringing it into contact with iron hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:Iron hydroxide formed by sprinkling atomized water or water droplets over sutting scraps or chips of cast iron having about several mm. size is used. An ozone decomposer is constructed by attaching inlet side and outlet side caps 1, 8 to a body 6 provided with rings 3, 3' having wire nets 4, 4' at both ends and with a plurality of rings 5 at proper intervals through flanges 2, 2', 7, 7', and by packing said iron hydroxide 11 into the body 5. An ozone-contg. gas is passed through the decomposer as shown by passages 9 (arrows) to decompose the ozone by contact with the iron hydroxide 11.
