Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform simplified and inexpensive solderings, by placing the solder in the space between a metallic pipe and a metallic plate contacting with the pipe, and by melting the solder by flowing a heating medium through the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe 5 is placed on a heat collecting plate 4, and the pipe is connected to a heat joining apparatus by means of joints 6 and 7. A heating medium, such as silicone oil, etc., whose boiling point is higher than that of the solder, is put in a container 8, and heated to a temperature which is higher than the melting point of the solder (approx. 1,200°C) by a boiler B. A wire-shaped solder is put in the clearance between the heat collecting plate 4 and pipe 5. Then, the heating medium is supplied into the pipe 5 by a pump P. In this case, the wire-shaped solder melts and flows into the clearance by a capillary action. The heated medium in the pipe is then discharged by sropping the pump P, closing a valve 9, and dismounting joints 6 and 7. The solder is cooled and solidified, and thus the pipe 5 is soldered to the heat collecting plate 5.
