Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure flaw-detecting operation, by attaching a ferrite sensor onto a movable table mounted on a base truck travelling on a guide rail, and also by shifting the movable table in the direction perpendicular to the direction in which the base table moves in accordance with detecting signal from the ferrite sensor. CONSTITUTION:A base truck 16, which is able to move on a guide rail 15 provided along weld line of a welded section 13 on which flaw detection is to be done, and a travelling motor 24, which is mounted on a base truck 16 and moves this base truck 16 along the guide rail 15, are provided. Further, a movable table 17, which is mounted in such a manner as to be capable of moving in the direction perpendicular to the direction of shifting of the base truck 16, and a ferrite sensor 39, which is supported on said table 17 in such a position as to face the welded section 13 and capable of detecting volume of ferrite in the welded section 13, and a position-compensating motor 25, which is to move the movable table 17 in the direction of returning the sensor 39 on the welded line in accordance with detecting signal from the sensor 39, are also provided on the base truck 16.
