Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize and simplify the apparatus without a special hermetically sealed structure by providing a constitution wherein a driving device is provided over shielding water and a checking member is suspended and supported. CONSTITUTION:The atomic reactor container 10 is surrounded by a shielding wall 3 which partitions a cavity 2 which is filled up with the shielding water 1. Rails 21, which run along the wall of the cavity 2, are provided on the upper surface of a shielding wall 3. A moving beam 23 is bridged over the cavity 2. A truck 27 is placed on rails 25 on the moving beam 3, and a winch device 30 is mounted on the truck 27. A turning device 37 is also mounted on the truck 27. After a checking device 20 has been set, the checking member 80 is aligned with the position of a nozzle 13 by the device 30 and stopped. The member 80 is turned by moving the device 37 with the positin of the nozzle 13 as a target, and stopped at the target position. Thereafter an arm 85 is extended, a probe 87 is brought closer to a welded part where the flaws are to be detected and moved along said part, thereby detecting flaws.
