Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a storage medium, by coating the surface of the magnetic storage medium with a hydrolysis substance of a specific silane compound to obtain a lubricant layer having excellent lubricant properties and good adhesive properties to the surface of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The hydrolysis substance of perphlore alkoxyl silane [or perphlore alkyl halosilane containing halogen (F, Cl, Br, I) in place of the upper OR] which is shown by a formula [n: 1-30; m: 1-3; OR: alkoxy (methoxy, ethoxy, butoxy, etc.)] is used. In other words, the above-mentioned silane compound is coated on a magnetic medium layer 2 and to a magnetic storage medium obtained by forming the layer 2 on a foundation 1 finished into a mirror surface, and then burnt at 100- 200 deg.C to receive physical cleaning and trichloroethylene vapor cleaning. Thus a hydrolysis substance layer 3 of silane compound is obtained.
