Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic storage medium which excels in the lubricity, by coating a hydrolyzed matter of hexaperfluoroalkyl disilazane over a ferromagnetic thin film medium. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic medium 2 is provided on a substrate 1, and furthermore the hexaperfluoroalkyl disilazane shown by an ordinary formula of (CnF2n+1)3SiNHSi(CnF2n+1)3 is coated when necessary on the medium 2 via a protective film 4. Then burning is carried out at 100-200 deg.C, and physical washing or a trichlene vapor washing is carried out. Thus a lubricating layer 3 of a hydrolyzed matter of hexaperfluoroalkyl disilazane is obtained.
