Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance durability by improving wear resistance by forming a magnetic layer on a base and by providing a lubricant layer made of perfluoropolyether, onto the layer.
CONSTITUTION: On a base, a magnetic layer is formed by vacuum deposition, etc., and this magnetic layer is coated or sprayed with petroleum ether or n-hexane solution of perfluoropolyether shown by the general formula (x:y=40:1 in the formula), or dipped in the solution to adhere perfluoropolyether within a range of 1W100mg/m2, forming a lubricant layer. Thus, the magnetic recording body can be manufactured easily at low cost and even if it is used at a high temperature for a long period, excellent durability can be obtained.
