Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the precision of dielectric breakdown test, by distinguishing the discharge signal produced without broken down test piece before reaching a prescribed voltage, from a sample breakdown signal, through the provision of a discrimination circuit for level comparison. CONSTITUTION:When an impulse voltage is produced, it is detected at a trigger circuit 7, it is counted for a given time at an extension circuit 8, and the 1st level taken as the reference of the set voltage of a charger 1 and a voltage dividing the inpulse voltage at a voltage divider 6 are compared at the 1st level comparison circuit 9 and a discrimination circuit 10, after the end of count. The 2nd level divided at a voltage divider 11 and the dlvided impulse voltage are compared at the 2nd level comparison circuit 9' and a discrimination circuit 10' after a given time t1. Through the comparison with two levels, the discrimination of normal, abnormal inpulse voltage and insulation breakdown is made, allowing to assure highly accurate test.
