Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to perform a reliable measurement of a dynamic characteristic through the separation of chattering and contact resistance, by a method wherein voltages, corresponding to a contact resistance and a reference resistance of a switch, are compared to form a time width signal by means of a dif- ference between the two voltages, an the signal is compared with a standard value. CONSTITUTION:With a switch 1 closed, a contact resistance reduces gradually, and an applied voltage falls. An output of a comparator 5 is inverted to a high level to set s FF 9, a counter 25 counts a frequency dividing output, and simultaneously, an AND gate 15 opens. If the contact resistance of the switch 1 falls further to a reference value, an AD gate 17 opens through the working of a comparator 7, a counter counts the frequency dividing output until the FF 9 is reset after the counter 29 performs a given number of countings, and this forms a time width signal corresponding to a difference in voltage based on the difference in contact resistance of the switch 1. Meanwhile, if chattering occurs, the counting operation of the counter 29 is controlled in a similar manner to separate the chattering from the contact resistance, and the dynamic characteristic of the switch is measured reliably through comparison of the time width signal with a standard value by means of a comparator 33.
