Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of material and the shape of a high temp. metal strip in a continuous annealing line by cooling the high temp. metal strip after over ageing treatment by a rotary cooling body in a high temp. zone with high cooling efficiency and by a cooling liquid in a low temp. cooling zone with low cooling efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The high temp. metal steel strip S heated to a high temp. of 400- 500 deg.C in an overageing zone 9 of a continuous metal treating line and supplied to a first cooling zone 10 through a hearth roll 14. Then, In the cooling zone 10, said steel strip is cooled to 200-300 deg.C while passed around plural numbers of rotary cooling bodies 15 into which a cooling medium is introduced so as to be flowed along an inner peripheral surface of a barrel part thereof. Subsequently, the steel strip S passing through the cooling zone 10 is passed through a cooling zone provided with a desired number of spray nozzles 16 and a secondary cooling zone 11 having an immersed rotor 18 to be cooled to 50 deg.C or below by a respective cooling liquid. As the result, the steel strip S is cooled in a reduced installation and a running cost.
