Abstract

PURPOSE: When an aminoacid salt of acetylsalicylic acid is purified by use of a solvent, actetylsalicylic acid is used as a pH adjuster for the solvent system to inhibit the decomposition of the salt and produce the salt of high quality used as an analgesic antipyretic.
CONSTITUTION: When an aminoacid salt of acetylsalicylic acid such as dl- or 1-lysine salt, alginine salt or hystidine salt, or creatinine salt is purified by use of a solvent, preferably an alcohol or its aqueous solution, acetone or its aqueous solution, acetylsalicylic acid is added to the solvent system as a pH adjuster to control the pH of the solvent for the purification to 4W6.5. Thus, the decomposition of the salt is inhibited to give satisfactory purification effect. As the alcohol for the solvent, methanol, ehtanol and propanol is industrially advantageous.
