Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a skin cosmetic having improved safety of perfume against the skin, by including the perfume in a hydrated gel of a crosslinked hydrophilic polymer, and incorporating the perfume in conventional skin cosmetic.
CONSTITUTION: A perfume included in a hydrated gel of a crosslinked hydrophilic polymer is incorporated in a skin cosmetic to obtain the objective cosmetic. The inclusion of the perfume is carried out either by dissolving the perfume in an aqueous solution of a hydrophilic polymer, e.g. polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyacrylamide or hydroxyethyl polyacrylate, and crosslinking the polymer pref. by irradiation, or by impregnating the perfume in the crosslinked polymer gel. The direct contact of the perfume with the skin is inhibited in the present cosmetic, the dermatic troubles caused by perfume can be remarkably reduced. The amount of the perfume to be added can be reduced because the volatilization of the perfume during storage is suppressed by the inclusion treatment.
