Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a stable automatic electric power controlling circuit by expanding the dynamic range of a detector in an automatic electric power controlling loop. CONSTITUTION:A transmitting electric power amplifier 11 is biased in linear operation status close to class B or AB and a part of the output of said amplifier is supplied to a variable attenuator 14 through a directional coupler 13. The variable attenuator 14 is constituted by a series circuit consisting of PIN diodes and the quantity of attenuation is determined by the values of resistances R1, R2-Rn in an output setting part 18. An output from the attenuator 14 is fed back to a gain variable amplifier 12 like a loop through an amplifier 15, an detector 16 and a comparator 17. Consequently, the dynamic range of the detector 16 is equivalently expanded, so that the stability of the transmitting electric power controlling loop system depends upon only the frequency responce of the loop system and is not affected by temperature change or the like.
