Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust particle purifier of high durability and safety and simple structure, by providing an exhaust particle collector in the exhaust passage of a Diesel engine and dispersedly arranging a plurality of ceramic heaters on the upstream side of the collector. CONSTITUTION:A trap vessel 12 having a collector 20 inside is provided in the exhaust passage of a Diesel engine 5 so that the vessel is located just downstream to an exhaust manifold 9 or the like. A plurality of ceramic heaters 16 are dispersedly arranged on the upstream side of the collector 20. To manufacture the ceramic heaters 16, appropriate electric heaters are coated with ceramic. A relay 17 and a power source 18 are connected to terminals for the heaters 16. Pieces of information such as the rotational frequency 7 of the engine 5, load 7', water temperature 8, exhaust pressure 10 upstream to the trap vessel 12 and the internal temperature 13 of the collector 20 are entered into a central processing unit 15 to supply electricity to the heaters 16 through the relay 17 at required time to incinerate exhaust particles caught by the collector, to regenerate it.
