Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize the operating mechanism of a tape recorder as a program searching mechanism, by enabling a user to discriminate easily whether a fast- forwarding and a rewinding operating element are locked at their operation positions, when performing cue or review operation while a playback operating element is operated precedently. CONSTITUTION:At some part of a lock slider 73 which corresponds to the lock pin 754 of an operation member 26 coupling with a playback operating element 14, a slanting part 737 which engages with the lock pin 754 while the operation member 26 is moved as shown by an arrow A to slide a lock slider 73 to the left in the figure, the 1st lock part 738 which when the lock pin 754 goes beyond the slanting part 737 and the lock slider is returned to the right in the figure by the activating force of a spring 74, stops the operation member 26 from returning as shown an arrow B in the figure in contact with the lock pin 754, and the 2nd lock part 739 swelling in succession to the lock part 738 are formed.
