Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize the leakage inductance of a transformer positively as the transfer element of energy by storing energy in the leakage inductance by turning a semiconductor switching element On and discharging energy to load by turning the switching element OFF. CONSTITUTION:When transistors 2A, 2C and a transistor 9 are turned ON, energy is stored in the leakage inductance of the transformer 3 from a DC power supply 1, and energy is not supplied to the load 6. When the transistor 9 is turned OFF, power is supplied to the load 6 through the transformer 3, a rectifier 4A, a diode 10 and a capacitor 5 from the power supply 1. When either of the transistors 2A, 2C such as only 2A is turned ON continuously, a series circuit containing the primary winding N1 of the transformer 3 and a diode 7B is brought to a short circuit condition, and energy stored in the leakage inductance of the transformer 3 is discharged to the load side.
