PURPOSE:To adjust the potential level of the surface of a recording body after transfer of a visible image through light irradiation, by composing the recording body of a conductive layer, a light charge generating layer, and a recording and charge migration layer which contains an electron receiving material and a dielectric. CONSTITUTION:A recording body 1 consists of a beltlike recording-material base layer, a conductive layer 5 provided on the surface of it, a light charge generating layer 6 provided on the surface of the layer 5, and a recording and charge migration layer 7 provided on its surface. The layer 6 contains a light charge generating material, and the layer 7 contains an electron receiving material as a charge migrating agent and a dielectric. The layer 6 also operates as an adhesive layer for adhering the layer 7 to the layer 5. The conductive layer 8 is grounded. The surface of the recording and charge migration layer 7 can be formed smoothly and it is advantageous to form numbers of fine recessed and projecting parts 8 of 1-10mum on the surface.
