Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure organic components in an exhaust gas by determining the quantity of exhaust gas as sucked for a fixed time through a filter made of an ethylene tetrafluoride resin with a hole diameter of 0.8-2mu. CONSTITUTION:An air inlet 2 with an air filter 2a is provided on one end side of a dilution tunnel 1 while an exhaust gas introduction tube 3 is arranged clost to the center thereof to connect an exhaust tube B1 of a diesel engine car B. One end of a suction path 4 is opened on the other end side thereof 1 and connected to a flowmeter 6 through a filter 8 and a suction pump 5. Exhaust gas is sucked with the apparatus A thus formed for a given time and the quantity thereof sucked per unit time is measured with the flowmeter 6. The closing area of a filter 8 is determined by the quantity of organic components in the exhaust gas to decide the suction quantity thereof. Thus, the amount of organic components can be obtained from the suction quantity by predetermining a correlation therebetween.
